Wiki Tut: Anchors

(read the Links, Anchors, and Shortcuts overview).

Practical Example

Assume you're setting up interview schedules for several job candidates. On the CandidateList page you have a list of candidates with links to resumes and interviews:

   * Bob Smith
      * resume
      * interview schedule

   * Fred Jones
      * resume
      * interview schedule

On the InterviewSchedules page you have all of the interview schedules:

---++ Bob Smith

| *Time* | *Location* | *Interviewer* |
| 9am | Conf room A | Ms. Brown |
| 10 am | Conf room A | Mr. Doyle |

---++ Fred Jones

| *Time* | *Location* | *Interviewer* |
| 2pm | Conf room B | Ms. Warren |
| 3pm | Conf room B | Mr. Doyle |

By setting up the interview page to use candidates' names as headers, you know that the Wiki will create anchors for those headers. In this example, the anchors will be Bob_Smith and Fred_Jones. You can then go back to the CandidateList and add easy links to tthe ppropriate section of the InterviewSchedules page:

   * Bob Smith
      * resume
      * [[InterviewSchedules#Bob_Smith][interview schedule]]

   * Fred Jones
      * resume
      * [[InterviewSchedules#Fred_Jones][interview schedule]]
