Welcome to AT_Cat, a web-based, crowd-sourced catalog of accessible and assistive technologies, related organizations, etc. It includes both items of specific and incidental interest to the disabled. For example, although the Anova Precision Cooker is sold for the general market, its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity make it accessible to the blind.

The current content only hints at the possible coverage, so please feel free to submit helpful feedback: additions, comments, suggestions, etc. (Just click the "email" link at the bottom of the relevant web page.)

AT_Cat's design is based on transformation of structured data. A tree of YAML files specifies the content, using hashes and lists of text strings. Because the data format is very general, the content can be presented in a large number of ways.

In this prototype version, some Ruby scripts convert the YAML files into a Foswiki subweb (i.e., directory tree), adding ancillary directories and files. This tree is then rendered and presented by a Foswiki engine.
