Contranascence exists when items (eg, data values) are required to differ from each other. For example:

  • calculating the same checksum
  • compressing and decompressing data

Contranascence may be either a static or a dynamic condition. Static contranascence may be mechanically recognizable, in some cases. Dynamic contranascence may be checked by assertions.
